I can't hear music
I can't feel it either
my glorious shadow!
my soul!
it's gone!
Someone met
my androgynous being
forlorn,
walking aimlessly
looking for a stranger
to take it in
as I lay dispersed
and entangled.
A piper could've played
a tune
to entice the web
into a snake like figurine
to crawl to a fringe
let it drop off the edge
into the gaping blackness
never to find its way back.
But that's wishful thinking.
It choked
Oh! how music shrieked
as the web tightened
and strings pulled tight
drawing soulful melancholy
from it
until there was no voice
no raspy breath
no will to resuscitate
the day music died.
